Radio Wrap Up 9/8/19 – New Fun #1
This past Sunday we were most fortunate to be joined by Nicky Wheeler-Nicholson, the granddaughter of DC Comics founder Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson. Over the course of the hour she discussed the upcoming DC Comics reprint of it’s very first book “New Fun #1” published in January of 1935!!!. Written not only by her Grandfather, but also featuring work from such industry luminaries as Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the very same duo that would go on to create Superman, and even a story penned by Walt Disney himself!!! This will be the first time that “New Fun #1” will have been reprinted, and I personally cannot wait to get my hands on a copy.
It was an enlightening hour to be sure, and if you have even a passing interest in the history of the comic book industry, you owe it to yourself to pick up a copy of this seminal work. Check out the video below!!
