GAMING POINT OF LOU – MARCH 2018 NEW RELEASES

February 23, 2018 Author: Lou Federico

Here we are yet again, the end of another month, and I am looking forward to what will be hitting store shelves in the month of March. This isn’t a huge month in the way of big releases, but for me the highlight is a certain Pirate themed game from the house of Goldeneye on the 20th. So take a look, and maybe you will find something to interest you as well. And since this old fart has learned how to embed videos on the website, I can put them here for your viewing pleasure. (I may be old, but I can learn!!!!!)

March 13th

Devil May Cry HD Collection – (PS4, X1, PC) – While DMC2 may have been a disappointment compared to 1 and 3, the series as a whole is one of the best hack and slash series’ ever created. Now you will get the chance to play the first three chapters with updated graphics, and a full 60 FPS. If you’re a youngin’ who never had the chance I recommend giving it a go.

March 16th

Kirby Star Allies – (Switch) – Kirby has never been my cup of tea, but I cannot deny the little pink puffballs success. Star Allies appears to play it pretty close to the vest. Kirby will inhale enemies and steal their powers, and engage in light platforming. The gameplay hook in this game however revolves around his “helpers”. Kirby will be able to toss a heart at enemies instead of inhaling them. They will then assist him along the way. Kirby will be able to use his helpers abilities in conjunction with his own.

March 20th

Sea Of Thieves (X1, PC) – Here it is folks… my game of the month. It is going to be soooo hard to stay on my life schedule with this game installed on my Xbox. If you are at all interested I did a write up of the Beta a couple weeks back. Give it a read if you are so inclined, but suffice to say I will be living the pirates life for quite some time.

March 21st

Detective Pikachu (3DS) – Have you ever wanted to work alongside a talking Pikachu to solve mysteries? If the answer to that question is yes, or if you just really like the Pokémon franchise, Detective Pikachu may be just up your alley.

March 27th

Far Cry 5 (PS4, X1, PC) – At this point the formula for Far Cry has been pretty well established. Open world sandoboxes, tight FPS gameplay, and a dictator to overthrow. Well, this time the story hits a bit closer to home as the “dictator” is the leader of a group of religious zealots that have taken over a fictional county in Montana. Much like FC2 you will be able to recruit allies to your cause, and you can even tame animals much like Far Cry Primal. These games are always highly regarded both critically and commercially, and I see nothing in this one to buck that trend.

Well that about wraps it up for this month, I hope everyone who reads this likes the new format with the video’s. I certainly think it makes everything more appealing. Stay tuned for April’s list as the video gaming world will be taken over by one highly anticipated sequel, a slightly less angry God, and cardboard…

Until Next Time Everyone,

Be Good To One Another.
